QUANTUM COMPUTING FOR FINANCE: A NEW EDUCATIONAL SERIES
QuantFi and QURECA, in collaboration with Strangeworks, are pleased to announce the launch of their new educational series in quantum computing
The rapid advancements in quantum computing technology have the ability to completely transform financial services. As innovation in the new computational field is accelerating, education and training in quantum technologies and quantum computing for the financial sector is gaining momentum. To continue expanding the quantum ecosystem, QuantFi and QURECA have come forward with the first specialized educational series in the field of quantum computing applications for the financial sector.
“Quantum Computing for Finance” is an emerging multidisciplinary field of quantum physics, finance, mathematics, and computer science, in which quantum computations are applied to solve complex financial problems. In response to the need for education in this new field, QuantFi and QURECA have deigned an 8-course online educational series designed for all those learners who wish to broaden their skills and develop professionally in creating quantum computing algorithms for the financial sector.
The “Quantum Computing for Finance” educational series is an immersive program hosted on the QURECA platform that will provide an understanding of the fundamentals of quantitative & computational finance, and quantum algorithms for its implementation on quantum computers, in order to realize the true potential of quantum technologies and their application to business use cases in Finance.
The courses are led by instructors from QuantFi, a leading French start-up specialized in creating quantum computer algorithms for the financial services industry. The educational series requires minimum 3-4 hours commitment per week and include number of coding exercises to support learners in building programming skills. QURECA collaborates with Strangeworks to provide a unique integrated platform accessible to all learners to practice the programming exercises covered in the courses and gain hands-on experience with quantum computing.
The first two of the educational series are foundational courses designed to introduce various subjects in computational and quantum finance describes as follows:
- Introduction to Quantitative and Computational Finance
The first course in the series provides a basis to step into the world of Quantum Computing for Finance. This introductory course will develop fundamental concepts required for an understanding of quantum algorithms and more advanced topics in computational finance. This course will teach you
- the basics of derivative products,
- the Black-Scholes-Merton model for pricing vanilla derivatives, and
- how to compute the price of exotic options using computational and modelling techniques.
This course is designed for all those who wish to develop their skills and start a career in quantitative finance
2. Quantum Algorithms for Computational Finance
The second course of the series is an advanced course that will develop an understanding in quantum algorithms for its implementation on quantum computers. Through this course, you will learn the basics of various quantum algorithms including:
- Grover’s and Rudolf’s algorithm,
- Quantum Amplitude Estimation (QAE) algorithm envisioned as a quadratic speed-up over Classical Monte-Carlo simulations,
- Combinatorial optimization algorithms namely Quantum Approximate Optimization Algorithm (QAOA), and Variational Quantum Eigensolver (VQE), and
- Quantum-inspired optimization algorithms.
This course is meant for all those learners who want to explore the topic of quantum computing in finance, assuming that you are familiar with the concepts of quantitative and computational finance.
In order to continue the educational goals of our learners, the quantum finance series continues beyond the foundational courses described above. Currently in the process of implementation, future courses in this series will include advanced topics such as Advanced Quantum Finance (2 courses), Amplitude Estimation, Portfolio Optimization, Quantum Machine Learning and Use Case Selection. Beyond these core courses, we also plan to offer optional courses in Quantum Cryptography, Quantum-Inspired Algorithms and Quantum Computing for Executives.
Certified by CPD, the program is designed to upskill all potential learners and train the workforce for a variety of potential jobs in the finance industry, including quantitative asset management and trading, financial engineering, risk management, and applied research using quantum computing technology.
